Marais des Cygnes competed at Emporia in Food Science, Livestock and Landscape. The Food Science Senior team consisted of Mikaela Baker, Amber Walbeck, Braden Reed and Kooper Watkins. The Livestock Intermediate team consisted of Chisolm Woodson, Wyatt Lingenfelter, Dalton Bechtle, Cole Lacey and Mary Ingle. The Livestock Senior team consisted of Kaelin Criqui, Steven Clower and Koby Vanderpool. The Nursery and Landscape team consisted of Haylee Miles, Tristen Duncan, Brice Marsh and Izzy Toman. Under the instruction of Ms. Ebert, the students in Horticulture planned and built landscape models. These models included: hardscape material, groundcover, fixtures, multiple plant/flower types, trees, and shrubs. Students were to establish a clear focal point and be creative in their planning and design. Students in the class are: Brice Marsh, Izzy Toman, Haylee Miles, Tristen Duncan, and Tanner Smith. Marais des Cygnes Valley FFA hosted their annual Chapter Banquet at 6:30 p.m. at the Melvern Community Building on Thursday, April 11th. We are very thankful for the community members who came out to support. Ms. Ebert took Sadie McGowin, Bayleigh Lacey, Tristen Duncan, and Haylee Miles to Iola, KS on April 4th to compete at the ACC Aggie Days in the Veterinary Science Competition. MdCV FFA attended the East Central Banquet on April 3rd in Ottawa, KS. Kaelin Criqui was District winner in Home and Community Development Proficiency. Koby Vanderpool accepted the chapter award for National Chapter. Chloe Volkman, Kathryn Vaught, Alaina Marsh, and Brookelyn Janssen recieved recognition for their State Degrees. |
